Innovations in Protective Finishes
Protect Your Pans from Rust

Powder Coated Steel Pans (Steel Drums)

Powder coating steel pans is a cheaper and more durable alternative to chrome plating and spray painting. It provides a protective finish that is resistant to scratches and peeling and prevents rust much better than chrome plating or regular spray painting. It is also supposed to provide this protection without altering the sound of the instrument.

A special powder is applied to the pan which is then heated. The powder melts forming a smooth film which dries to a firm durable finish.

Unlike chrome plating, this process can produce steel pans in a wide variety of colors.
